Will transportation be provided from the airport to the resort?
Yes, transportation from Lisbon International Airport (LIS) to the Penha Longa Resort will be provided for you on arrival and departure days.
The resort is a 35 minute drive from LIS airport.
Will airline baggage fees be reimbursed?
Yes, travelers may expense their luggage fees.
What are the average temperatures in Portugal in May?
The average temperatures in May are 57-71 degrees Farenheit with an average of 8 rainy days during the month.
Remember Portugal uses Celcius to measure temperature. For an easy way to convert C to F, multiply degrees C by 2 and add 30.
How can I call someone in the US from Portugal?
To dial out of Portugal, you will enter the exit code (00), followed by the country code, followed by area code and phone number. The country code in the US is 1, and 351 for Portugal.
To dial someone in Boston for example, the dialing would be: 00-1- 617-123-4567.
Will I be able to use my cell phone in Portugal?
ABRY IT will add International coverage plans to all ABRY phones prior to the Retreat.
What type of currency do they use in Portugal?
Portugal's currency is the Euro. About $1.10 USD is the equivalent of 1 Euro.
Most shops and restaurants will also accept major credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, and AMEX).
What is the easiest way to get cash (Euros) in Portugal?
There will be ATMs available for use in Lisbon Airport, at Penha Longa Resort and throughout Sintra and Lisbon.
Is there complimentary Wi-Fi at the Penha Longa Resort?
Yes, free wifi will be included in the guest rooms and common areas at the Penha Longa. Wifi network and password information will be communicated through the mobile app and upon check-in at the resort.
What is the time zone in Portugal?
Portugal's timezone is Western European Time (WET) and is 5 hours ahead of Boston.
Do I need a passport or any other type of documentation?
Yes, each guest must bring a passport. Your passport must be valid and cannot expire within 6 months of your departure date from Portugal.
Covid vaccination cards are not required but strongly recommended if you have one.
Who should I contact in case of emergency while in Portugal?
The Portuguese National Emergency Number is 112. In an emergency during normal business hours, American citizens should contact the Embassy at 351-21-77-2122.
